Born in the Far-East, this travelling priestess made her living through showcasing her traditional performing arts throughout the land.
Her family that has worshipped and passed down the legend of the Fox Deity throughout the generations were apparently originally called "Shinobi".
When she would swing around her giant calligraphy brush, everything she drew would pop up off the canvas, and come to life with an actual physical form.
She was able to do so because of the golden hairs from a fox spirit what were mixed into the head of the brush. She was also known as a travelling artist, with her illustrations ranging from depictions of regional myths to representations of mundane everyday life.
These picture scrolls that she created throughout her whole life were passed down through the ages.
Divine Fox Painter Sumire
It was within the silent grounds of the shrine that the priestess made the finishing touch on her masterpiece.
That was the moment when a sparkle of life began to glint within the eyes of the illustration of the Fox Deity she worshiped.
The sudden flash of light that emanated from the canvas forced her to shut her eyes.
When she opened them, however, the illustration... No, the Fox Deity that had jumped out of the illustration stood before her.
This led her to deciding to embark on a journey the next morning, saying farewell to the shrine that had been so good to her.
It was through this journey that countless picture scrolls were produced, and would eventually be passed down throughout the generations.
One of these scrolls was the "Legend of the Sealed Fox."
