Momonga (モモンガ)
Ainz Ooal Gown (アインズ・ウール・ゴウン), formerly known as Momonga (モモンガ), is the main protagonist of the Overlord series. He is the guild master of Ainz Ooal Gown, Overlord of the Great Tomb of Nazarick, and the creator of Pandora's Actor. He is regarded as the highest of the Almighty Forty-One Supreme Beings by the NPCs of Nazarick.
A cautious and stingy person, Momonga always tries to plan and control details, avoiding any haphazard actions. Because he doesn't underestimate his opponents, he will usually overkill them. Since being transferred to a new world and becoming an actual Undead being, Momonga could feel himself becoming very cold and calculating, his emotions repressed.
Loyal to his friends and creations, since becoming Lord Ruler of Nazarick in the new world he acts with a certain degree of nobility for his devoted followers. Momonga only does things that will benefit Nazarick or himself, whether it's information or prestige. Although he does have a sense of justice and doesn't hate humans as much as his followers, he holds no attachment to them, and he feels nothing toward their deaths.
Albedo (アルベド)
Albedo is the Overseer of the Floor Guardians of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. She is in charge of the general management and supervises the activities of the seven Floor Guardians, meaning that she ranks above all the other NPCs in Nazarick. She is the sister of Nigredo and Spinel. She was created by Tabula Smaragdina.
An impeccable beauty, Albedo is a woman with lustrous jet-black hair and the face of a goddess. She has golden irises and vertically split pupils; on her left and right temples are two thick horns protruding crookedly, and on her waist is a pair of black angel wings.
Albedo wears a pure white dress with silky gloves covering her slender hands, and a golden spiderweb necklace that covers her shoulders and chest. In combat, she wears an impressive black full plate armor with a unique helm and carries a battle-axe with her.
Like Shalltear, Albedo has a true form as a heteromorphic race NPC. Shalltear called her a "big mouthed gorilla" when they quarreled, so her true form may be quite large in size.
Extremely loyal and extremely in love, Albedo is completely infatuated with Momonga, often showing obsessive tendencies when it comes to his affairs. She is always vying for Momonga's affection, showcasing outbursts of jealousy whenever anyone else appears to be getting close to him. This is because the last thing Momonga did in Yggdrasil was to use his administrative privileges to edit her character history, adding the she is "madly in love" with him.
Among all the Guardians, Albedo is the most vocal when it comes to expressing opinions. She will openly denounce any statement or action deemed inappropriate, reaching the point where Momonga sometimes considers it an annoyance.
As the Overseer of the Floor Guardians, she is very levelheaded. Albedo can make calm and collected judgments that Ainz, sometimes, doesn't think of. She takes Ainz's orders as top priority and absolute, punishing anyone, even a Floor Guardian, who'd dare belittle his orders. Like many others in Nazarick, she absolutely loathes humans and views them as an inferior species.
Dressed as gentleman, Demiurge is a floor guardian on the seventh floor of the Great Tomb of Nazarick and the Commander of the NPC Defenses. He was created by Ulbert Alain Odle.
As a member of the Demon race, Demiurge is one of the cruelest members in Nazarick, taking great joy in the suffering of other races. He enthusiastically performs magic experiments on the prisoners sent to him, viewing them as nothing but toys, and enjoys inciting hateful feelings and treacherous thoughts among them.
Demiurge works closely with the other servants of Nazarick and is loyal to the creators, thinking of them as important companions. However, due to their conflicting personalities, he and Sebas Tian do not appear to get along well.
Cocytus (コキュートス)
Cocytus is the floor guardian of the fifth floor in the Great Tomb of Nazarick. He is a hybrid between a mantis and an ant. He was created by Takemikazuchi.
Having an enormous body size of 2.5m, Cocytus has the appearance of an insect walking on two feet - a fusion between a mantis and an ant.
With a tail twice as long as his height, Cocytus is covered with sharp spikes like icicles and has a strong jaw that can easily snap people's hands. Two of his hands hold a silver halberd, while the remaining two hands hold a mace emitting black light and a crooked shape sheath which seems to be for a broadsword. With a breathtaking cold air, the pale blue, hardened bone armor oozes out diamond dust like bright light. His shoulders and back look like an uplifted iceberg.
Shalltear Bloodfallen (シャルティア・ブラッドフォールン)
Shalltear is a true vampire and the Floor Guardian of the first to third floors in the Great Tomb of Nazarick. She was created by Peroroncino.
Shalltear has a very flirtatious personality and is very open with her sexual preferences, often to other characters' discomfort. Despite her apparent shamelessness, she can be quite innocent about certain things. She has a complex about her small figure, which she attempts to cover up by using breast pads.
As a true vampire, Shalltear is extremely proud and takes her position as a Floor Guardian very seriously. She has no patience for failure and will often burst into fits of rage at signs of an unfavorable situation. She will not hesitate to kill any servant who disappoints her; however, she will not punish others for failing in tasks that are impossible to begin with.
Shalltear is completely loyal to Momonga and is also a love rival to Albedo for his affections. She takes great joy in being able to prove her worth and fantasizes about the praise she expects to receive. When a situation doesn't go in her favor, she panics about the scolding she believes that she will get.
Aura Bella Fiora (アウラ・ベラ・フィオーラ)
Aura is a dark elf and one of the twin Floor Guardians on the sixth floor in the Great Tomb of Nazarick. She is the twin sister of Mare Bello Fiore and was created by Bukubuku Chagama. Being a beast tamer, she is capable of controlling magic beasts and is a master of guerrilla warfare.
In contrast with her brother Mare, Aura is a very cheerful and tomboyish girl who is often quite forward in her remarks. She dominates over her brother, often dragging him around and telling him what to do. At first glance she doesn't appear to get along with Shalltear and often gets into small quarrels with her, but in reality the two of them are quite close as though they were true sisters. She also has a collector's spirit, and since coming to the New World she wishes to add any new creature she finds to her beast collection.
Like all NPCs of Nazarick, Aura is completely loyal to Momonga and would sacrifice everything for his sake. She carries out her duties with great zeal and would give up on her own interests if ordered to. She misses her creator dearly, always wanting to hear her voice from Momonga's watch when it was presented as a reward.
Mare Bello Fiore (マーレ・ベロ・フィオーレ)
Mare is a dark elf and one of the twin Floor Guardians on the sixth floor of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. He is the twin brother of Aura Bella Fiora and was created by Bukubuku Chagama.
Mare is a girlish looking child with dark skin and pointed ears, a signature trait of the dark elves. He has golden hair and heterochromia, his right eye green and left eye blue.
He wears a boring blue dragon scale leather covered by a white and gold vest embroidered with the sigil of Ainz Ooal Gown and a forest green-leaf cloak. Below he has a matching short white skirt exposing his skin, and on his neck is an acorn necklace emitting silver light. His slender hands are donned with shiny white silk gloves while holding a twisted black wooden staff.
Mare has a shy and cowardly personality, the opposite of his sister Aura. This is due to the fact that his creator apparently believed that the younger brother should obey the elder sister. He often stutters when speaking and maintains a subservient demeanor during conversations. This, however, is only an outward guise and does not affect his loyalty to Momonga or his ability to carry out his duties, no matter how cold-blooded they may be.
Sebas Tian is the head butler of the Great Tomb of Nazarick with several manservants and other butlers under his command. He was created by Touch Me.
Like his creator, Sebas Tian has a great deal of personal justice. Unlike many other denizens in Nazarick, he does not despise humans or see them as inferior creatures.
Instead, he believes humans have a good nature and it is the duty of the strong to protect the weak. However, low-down behaviors still disgust him and he will kill anyone who dares to oppose Nazarick.
Due to the conflict in their personalities, he and Demiurge do not appear to get along well.
Pandora's Actor (パンドラズ・アクター)
Pandora's Actor is an area guardian and the financial manager of Nazarick. He is responsible for the upkeep of Nazarick and the Ainz Ooal Gown. He was created by Momonga himself.
Dressed in a nazi uniform, Pandora's Actor is an egghead with no distinct facial feature except the three holes on his face. In Ainz's original design, he is the combination of everything that Ainz think is cool which included exaggerated gestures and body language.
Pandora's Actor is an egghead whose behavior is always overly exaggerated, humiliating Ainz. However, while he is over the top, he can also be extremely practical. Unlike other NPCs who willingly obey every order without question, Pandora's Actor will ask questions to clarify his duties and give suggestions whenever possible. Thus, despite his personality, he can be the perfect executioner of all his master's tasks without misunderstanding his intentions.
Like other inhabitants of Nazarick, Pandora's Actor is loyal to the 41 Supreme Beings. However, he is completely devoted to Ainz, his creator, and would even fight the other guild members if ordered to.
Pandora's Actor is one of the smartest, most tactical, and powerful NPC by setting, but often uses his talents in some strange matters. As a higher-tier doppelgänger, he has an ability to mimic a player including the Ainz Ooal Gown guild members, but receives penalties in all attributes.
His main ability is to shape-shift into other people. While he has taken on another person's form, he can use all of their abilities and skills but only up to 80% of their output. He has 45 different forms he can take and among those include all of the Supreme Beings' as Momonga wanted to preserve their shape. Because of this, while not as strong as some of the other guardians, he is the most diverse, capable of taking on the shape that will have the greatest effect.
Victim is a Floor Guardian on the eighth floor of the Great Tomb of Nazarick. It has the appearance of 1 meter long bright pink embryo with an angelic halo and featherless stick-like wings.
Despite being one of the most rarely seen of the Floor Guardians, Victim is courteous to his colleagues.
Victim speaks in a different language than the others NPCs, but though he speaks in an alien tongue, they nevertheless seem to have no trouble understanding him.
He is humble and modest about his position as a living sacrifice, believing it is his sole duty and purpose to serve the Supreme Beings and Nazarick.
Gargantua is a floor guardian on the fourth floor of the Great Tomb of Nazarick.
It is a stone golem with height over 30 meters.
Its arms and legs are chunky, so it may look cute if one does not regard its size. Red glow comes out from its chest like a heart.
Gargantua is not a custom NPC, but a bonus given from guild headquarters.
Guild members named it as one of the floor guardians, yet it is just settled at the bottom of the lake in usual.
Kyouhukou is an Area Guardian of the Black Capsule on the 2nd Floor of the Great Tomb of Nazarick.
Kyouhukou's appearance is that of a 30 cm tall cockroach standing on its two legs and with its head facing forward.
He wears a bright red cape decorated with luxurious golden threads around the edge and a tiny golden crown on top of his head.
He possesses a scepter with a pure white gem embedded at the end, which he is often seen holding with his front leg.
Guren is an Area Guardian of the River of Flame on the 7th Floor of the Great Tomb of Nazarick.
After the establishment of Ainz Ooal Gown and Nazarick designated its guild base,
Guren was placed on the 7th Floor to act as an Area Guardian in the molten river.
It primarily rests within the lava pools until an enemy approaches it, which in turn attacks them using the terrain as cover for sneak attacks.
Grant (グラント)
Grant is an Area Guardian of the Great Tomb of Nazarick.
Grant is an Area Guardian who holds a special position in the Great Tomb of Nazarick, as she protects areas scattered over many floors such as the 3rd and 6th Floors.
Aureole Omega (オーレオール・オメガ)
Aureole Omega is an Area Guardian of the Cherry Blossom Sanctuary and the leader of the "Pleiades Seven Sisters," the battle maid squad of the Great Tomb of Nazarick.
She is in charge of the Teleportation Gates throughout Nazarick. At the same time, she is tasked with protecting the Staff of Ainz Ooal Gown in the Cherry Blossom Sanctuary.
Aureole Omega is the leader of the "Pleiades Seven Sisters" and the Area Guardian of the Cherry Blossom Sanctuary that controls all the teleportation gates in Nazarick. She is the only human NPC of Nazarick that possesses eternal life.
