Shielding Wave Filia 

A 19-year-old girl who lived in a small mountain village in the western kingdom of Yoshal with her parents and little sister. 

She normally helped out with then farming chores until a beautiful blue sword appeared behind the shed one day. 

That convinced her to become a warrior, if only to earn the money for her blind sister's treatment that her poor family could not afford. 

Learning from a retired fencer who lived in the nearby mountains, she asked to become his apprentice.

Filia studied how to use her blade under the old veteran, gaining remarkable talent after a few years. 

However, they were suddenly attacked during one training session by an infamous band of thieves who wanted to steal her unique weapon.  

The fight was won despite overwhelming odds, but her master could never wield a sword again. 

Returning home to promise her family she would win a major martial arts tournament and its purse, she set out on a new journey.
